Srinagar, February 15  (KNO) : Syed Ali Geelani expressed his serious concern over the falling health of detainees in different jails said that they are not being provided with proper medical treatment and as such their health is deteriorating with every passing day. Lashing at state administration, Geelani said that detainees are being shifted to outside jail and while referring to reports, added that those lodged in state jails are harassed and threatened on one pretext or the other. Referring to falling condition of detained leader Ab Ahad Para, Syed Ali Geelani said that doctors attending him, has suggested immediate surgery, however authorities are deliberately denying him specific treatment. Denouncing jail authorities for their “inhuman and harsh” behaviour against the detainees, Hurriyat chairman said if any untoward happens to them; New Delhi and “local rulers” shall have to face the consequences.

Meanwhile Syed Ali Geelani strongly criticised the detention of Zamrooda Habib, Shah Wali Mohamad, Molvi Bashir Irfani, Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah, Ab Rashid Lone and Zahid Ahmad by police station Sopor and Trehgam Kupwara, saying that police has unleashed a reign of terror and subjecting political leadership to political vendetta.
